Finally submitted the oldest of my FindingOZ photos that I wanted to. Whew, that certainly took a while!

It's difficult to be a spy when your camera isn't super-compact.

No, really, does anyone have any experience(s) with either professional or amateur spy photography that they want to share? Any tips or good practices?

back

2 months of roadtripping, 10 countries done, 8 of them in 4 weeks, lots of people met and experiences had and gained. Used Hospitality Club all the way with close to no problems, so I can now say I've tested it thoroughly and I recommend it to anyone who likes to travel and not live in hotels or hostels.

Now I'm back. And it's surprisingly good to be back in spite of all the good times I've had on the trip. Back to the job I had before I set off, back to spring, back to good friends, couldn't come back to anything better (considering the prognosis of Danish politics where there isn't much to hope for).

I hope to submit a lot of deviations, especially photos from the trip, in the following days.

Until then, I'll be looking on yours ;)

Going north? ...

Wed Feb 22, 2006, 1:37 PM
... Oh yes!
Thanks to hospitalityclub.org and a couple of brilliant Irish people I'll be joining the Finding OZ trip on Friday! We'll be going north first, then south and east. Check out the webpage for the route and more info. Crazy idea with crazy people :)
Got myself a job and thus money for the trip which I'll follow for approximately 2 months and then come back home, probably with loads of experiences and hopefully slightly wiser than when I set out :P
Will bring my camera, of course.
I guess that was all for now, really. Have a great time while I'm away - looking forward to coming home to thousands of new deviations to look through :) Might just have a peek now and then while on the journey as everyone we'll stay with has internet (that's how we got in touch with them). Check out the Hospitality Club (link above or banner below), it's fantastic!

Soul searching and job searching

Tue Jan 3, 2006, 9:27 AM
This'll have to be a quick one, I have a party to go to.
Currently I'm unemployed, and have been for over a month. It's not very nice, to put it nicely. Anyway, I've finally pulled myself together and gone out and asked a couple of places if they had a job for me. The rest of this week will be spent on that too.
Recently I've felt very much like doing collab work with other photographers, and that also made me feel like going to a photo school of some kind.
I've also looked at the upcoming Half-Life 2 mod NeoTokyo, which seems very promising indeed. That old dream of making computer games came up again, so I've found out I want to be part of making games at some point in my life, hopefully while there's still good quality games out there.
Anyway, I'm off. I hope you like my latest winter photos. After my birthday on Feb 1st I hope to have better opportunities to use my room as a portrait/still life studio.

Bottles piling up

Sun Dec 18, 2005, 9:14 AM
To an unexpected (and puritan) visitor, the vast amount of empty wine and beer bottles would make me seem more or less alcoholic, but hey, take a look inside rokujuuyon's room and you'll find at least five times more empty (and full) bottles, and yet neither of us classify as alcoholics. Nevertheless, the amount of other mess in my room definitely classifies me as lazy. Having actually once tried not being lazy, one would think that simply knowing the value of tidyness and regular clearing up of mess would make me either clean up my room instantly or commit suicide, but I'm just too lazy for both. Hopefully this is subject to change. And if it does change, hopefully I can get out and take some photos - and get myself a job, not least.
Yes, I sure feel change coming - the first wave has already been over me. Currently waiting for wave 2. Bah, that sounded like crap. Yay. :w00t!:

Long-distance relationships are pretty tough on your sleeping possibilities :P It's pretty on/off, and the both phase switches are abrupt and challenging - but it's all worth it! :)

Above mentioned book seems pretty interesting. And the "Fetish:Footage:Forum" actually exists, though it's pretty much a value-less fictivity because it was originally created by people who were looking for it themselves. Though after some browsing I found a few links to some web.artists. Not footage though.

[ed/050914] Must... get... sleep...

Thu Aug 25, 2005, 2:21 PM
My server harddisk is up and running again :w00t: Some of the bigger files were unrecoverable though, but it's still very nice to have my homepage up and running again :)

Anyway, I've got work to do and breakfast to eat way too early for my taste, so goodnight.

#edit @ 050914: I still need to sleep more :P

Damn all malfunctioning hard drives

Wed Aug 17, 2005, 1:11 AM
The USB interface between my 160GB hard drive and my server suddenly began sending not 5V/12V but 4V/13V to the hard drive, disabling it of spinning up at all. Very appropriate when I promised to burn some cd's with photos for my girlfriend before she left back home on Monday (). Now they're still all there, but Windows doesn't aknowledge it so I have to load everything over on another hard drive (which I luckily have), format the 160GB and load all the files back again. And then start using a more secure USB interface. But really, what sucks the most about this is that it takes such a bloody long time for the files to go from one hard drive to another, so it'll probably take all week. :shakefist:!
